Artist Michael Cordell primarily creates metal sculpture. His work ranges from figurative to abstract and incorporates a broad variety of materials and finishes. Cordell's sculptures have been commissioned for both commercial and residential placement. His work can be viewed outside the Boise Weekly headquarters at 6th and Broad in downtown Boise. In addition, he has several significant works included in the art collection of Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. Michael Cordell lives and works in Boise, Idaho.

Completed for Dr.s Coughlin and McGee in the Hartman Building on the St Alphonsus RMC campus, Boise, Idaho, Vine is composed of forged steel and copper. This piece was commissioned to create an inspiring environment for staff and patients, a concept central to St. Alphonsus' philosophy that art contributes to healing.
